Ranu Mondal is an Indian playback singer who gained popularity after a video of her singing 'Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai' at Ranaghat railway station went viral in 2019. Her soulful voice caught the attention of music composer Himesh Reshammiya, who offered her a chance to sing in his film 'Happy Hardy and Heer'.
Ranu Mondal was raised by her maternal aunt in Ranaghat after losing her parents at a young age.
She worked as a singer at a local club in Mumbai, where she was known as 'Ranu Bobby'.
Her ex-husband, Bablu Mondal, worked as a cook at actor Feroz Khan's house in Mumbai.
She has a daughter named Sathi Roy, from whom she was estranged for about a decade before reuniting after gaining fame.
